Experience the mesmerizing Shangrila Resort, cold desert, and towering peaks of Skardu.

This 4-day trekking vacation takes you deep into Kumrat Valley to explore two of its most rewarding high-altitude attractions: the vast green meadow of Jahaz Banda and the beautiful bowl-shaped Katora Lake. Designed for nature lovers and trekkers who want more than just a roadside visit, the journey combines scenic jeep travel, forest trails, riverside camping, and moderate-to-challenging mountain walks.
Starting from the gateway town of Thal, the itinerary moves into the dense deodar forests along the Panjkora River before ascending to Jahaz Banda (around 3,100 m), a wide alpine pasture surrounded by peaks. From there, an additional trek leads to Katora Lake, a striking glacial lake set in a natural rocky basin. Overnight stays in tents or simple camps allow you to enjoy the quiet mountain atmosphere, starry skies, and changing light on the landscape.
The package is ideal for travellers with moderate fitness who want a focused trekking experience in one of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s most beautiful and still relatively peaceful valleys. Best undertaken between June and September when the high trails are open and the meadows are at their greenest.
The package generally includes 3 nights accommodation, breakfast and dinner (as per selected variant), private transport (including 4×4 jeep for mountain tracks), experienced mountain driver, professional guide, sightseeing as per itinerary, fuel, tolls, parking, driver allowances, and all applicable taxes.
The trek to Jahaz Banda is moderate (approximately 2–4 hours). The continuation to Katora Lake is more demanding, involving a steeper 3–4 hour climb. A reasonable level of fitness is recommended. Those who prefer can enjoy Jahaz Banda without continuing to the lake.
June to September is ideal, when the high trails are open, the meadows are green, and weather conditions are most suitable for trekking.
